The refurbishment of the historic Royal Exchange was funded by Rolls-Royce Pension Trust and involved the purchase of 32 existing shop units around the perimeter of Royal Exchange along with the Courtyard and Ambulatory (previously occupied by LIFFE until 1991).
Works were completed on schedule to convert the Grade I Listed Courtyard into 12 new retail units and 2 bar/restaurants prelet to some of the world's best known brands namely, Prada, Church’s, Theo Fennell, Alfred Dunhill, Tiffany, John Lobb (Hermes), Boodle & Dunthorne, Richard James and Ermengildo Zegna Gucci, Tods, Paul Smith, Jo Malone, Molton Brown.
Conran Restaurants completed the transformation of the building when they opened their Grand Cafe and Bar in the central courtyard.
